Until you actually stand on the first tee at Southern Hills Golf Club, you are not going to understand why our layout has won acclaim from golfing magazines and why players love this course so much. But once you are here, our layout will take your breath away; you're going to want to play at Southern Hills again and again to experience the rich green landscape with its majestic maples and pines. Our designer, Mike Young of Athens, Georgia, took full advantage of the unusual rolling terrain to sculpt a course with elevation changes unusual for courses in the area. You are going to love the uphills and downhills and the tiered greens that demand accuracy and strategic thinking. You will be taking the dare on risk-reward fairways and making use of clubs that you never took out of your bag before you visited Southern Hills. And watch out for the water; nine of our holes have ponds and creeks.

It is no wonder that for 2004-2005, Southern Hills was given 4.5 stars in the annual Places to Play list issued by Golf Digest. This course is ranked right up there with the Harbor Club and Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro and Sea Island Golf Club on St. Simons Island as one of the top courses in Georgia.

From I-75 go east on exit #135, aprox 18 miles then turn left on Buck Creek Road, go to end of road and turn right and take the 2nd entrance on the left to the course.  Get Driving directions to: Route 1 Hwy 247 N. View Southern Hills Golf Club with Google Earth.
