Since its opening in 2004, the 18-hole Kinderlou Forest Golf Club has pleased the golfers of South Georgia and has earned the reputation as the premier golf facility in Valdosta and all of South Georgia. The Kinderlou Forest Golf Club was designed by PGA Tour Golf Pro Davis Love III. He planned the 7,781 yard 160 acre course to encompass traditional play while providing an extraordinary golfing experience.
As a result of Love's vision, Kinderlou Forest has received high accolades from a variety of sources. Specifically, Kinderlou Forest was noted in Travel Leisure Golf Magazine as being on of the thirty best new golf courses in 2004. Golf Magazine rated it as a top ten golf course in 2004 and Golf Digest Magazine ranked it among the top golf courses for Georgia in 2005-2006. Kinderlou Forest was also voted as one of the best tour courses by Golfweek for 2007-2008. Several prestigious tournaments are held at the club, each year, including the PGA’s South Georgia Classic.
Located in South Georgia near the Florida border, Kinderlou Forest Golf Club is easily accessible to many avid golfers. Valdosta is home to many excellent restaurants, a thriving historical area, and an exciting adventure park. Only a 3 hour drive from Atlanta, Georgia, Valdosta (also called Azalea City) offers a break from the traffic and congestion of the city. There are several membership options. Membership information is available from the club for those interested in this remarkable course.
Regardless of the draw to the area, Kinderlou can boast a unique golf experience. The front nine of the course provides players with plenty of hills and trees ranging from oak and hickory to magnolia and dogwood. Meanwhile, the back nine provides players with plenty of pine trees. Water and sand traps are plentiful to challenge the skilled player; yet still allow for an enjoyable day on the greens. The club offers residences, a 9400 square foot clubhouse, a fully stocked pro shop, a bar, and a fabulous restaurant.
